..Advice for Parents......                       Babysitting Service...
  ..           Becoming a Nanny....       ..         Local Offices
The service was formed to provide responsible, caring professional babysitters. We provide low-cost local babysitters at short notice for families.

We have many babysitters on our current register, most of whom are off-duty Nannies, Nurses, Mothers, Primary school teachers, student Nursery Nurses who are aged at least 18 years with plenty of specific childcare experience. They are selected after careful interview and reference check. We pay great attention to their experience with children and whether they have professionally cared for very young babies. Babysitters carry with them identification in the form of a time sheet which a parent signs at the end of the session. The membership will be invoiced to you, when you make your first booking, but a few days notice is appreciated. The babysitting assignment is then given to one of our babysitters, living locally to you, who will telephone shortly before she arrives to check the address and arrival time and to introduce herself. If you would like a particular babysitter, we always check her availability provided 48 hours notice is given.

MEMBERSHIP FEES
There is a membership fee per family which is invoiced to you. All other charges are payable to your employee in CASH who will produce a time sheet, to be signed by you.

ON ARRIVAL When your employee arrives, please give her at least two contact numbers in case of emergency; these may include your family doctor and perhaps a neighbour, or, if available, a number where you can be reached.

TRAVELLING EXPENSES Your employee should be reimbursed for all her reasonable travelling expenses. If public transport is not available (and in any case after 10.00 pm) your employee should be driven home or a taxi provided. When your employee is travelling home by taxi, we think it is better if a taxi is called by telephone. This way you may ascertain the correct amount of the fare and your employee is protected from the dangers of wandering the streets, late at night, looking for a taxi. If your employee uses her own car then she is entitled to the value of 5 litres of petrol regardless of distance travelled. If she is without a car, her fares will be kept to a minimum.

FOOD AND REFRESHMENTS Meals should be provided for your employee where appropriate (i.e. on evening jobs where your employee is requested to arrive before 7.00pm). Otherwise she should be provided with an opportunity to make herself coffee or tea.

CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES OF TIME There is normally no charge for cancelled bookings provided 24 hours notice is given, but if this cannot be done or if your employee is not on the telephone or for some reason cannot be prevented from arriving a minimum charge of 2 hours plus fares is payable to her. However, please remember that very late cancellations may inconvenience your employee. If you know of anything that may delay your homecoming. or if circumstances arise that may cause any delay, please telephone the service to inform any revised expected time of arrival.

OFFICE HOURS Our office is open 9.30am - 6pm Monday to Thursday , Friday 9.30am-5pm (we are sometimes closed between 1pm and 2 pm)

BOOKING Advanced bookings will normally confirmed at the time they are made, although the babysitter will not usually telephone you until the evening of the day of the booking. Our telephones can be extremely busy. When you get through you may be asked to hold the line. If this happens, may we apologise in advance for any inconvenience so caused. Please give as much notice as possible, especially for day bookings and Saturday nights and over the Christmas period. Some Delay may also be experienced in answering your call especially Saturday am when priority is given to babysitters.

ANSWERPHONES If you have an answerphone please leave it turned off when you are in so the babysitter can confirm the booking and check the address. Babysitters are NOT PERMITTED to give out their telephone numbers.

LASTLY Your employee is instructed by us not to leave her charge until the parents return home and will comply with this fully. This leaves you the freedom to enjoy your evening or day trip with complete peace of mind.

Thank you for choosing Lauvic Babysitters Service; we hope that you will be completely satisfied with our service.
